Job Summary
The Branch Manager (Business Development) is responsible for driving business growth, revenue generation, market expansion, and customer acquisition within the assigned branch.
The role oversees all branch business development activities, develops and maintains strategic relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensures achievement of sales targets, and promotes the organization's products and services within the branch's catchment area.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth:
- Develop and implement branch business development strategies aligned with
organizational objectives. - Drive the acquisition of new clients and retention of existing customers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments.
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve branch revenue and profitability targets.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, direct marketing, and stakeholder
engagement. - Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify emerging
opportunities and threats.
Branch Leadership & Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to branch staff.
- Set performance objectives and monitor staff productivity and performance.
- Coach, mentor, and develop branch employees to improve performance and
capability. - Foster a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction and business growth.
Market Expansion & Stakeholder Management:
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and
networking forums. - Establish relationships with community leaders, business associations, and professional bodies.
- Develop strategic alliances to enhance business growth and market penetration.
Branch Operations & Administration:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch to ensure efficiency and
effectiveness. - Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of customer records and branch reports.
- Monitor branch expenses and ensure prudent utilization of resources.
- Ensure operational activities comply with internal controls and regulatory
requirements. - Coordinate branch activities to support overall organizational objectives.
Data Protection & Confidentiality
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in handling company-related information, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.
- Adhere to the company’s information security guidelines, including proper storage, transmission, and disposal of sensitive materials.
- Promptly report any suspected data breaches or unauthorized access to the appropriate company authority.
- Participate in periodic data protection training to stay informed about evolving security risks and best practices.
General Assignment
- Execute any other duties and tasks that may be designated or assigned by the
Company. - Participate in the knowledge sharing programme of the department and the
company. - To provide supports to your Team Lead/ Branch Manager as may be required
towards serving the Board, Management and staff.
Qualification
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in business development, with at least 2 years in a
leadership role. - Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Relevant certification such as CIIN (Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) is an added advantage.

- Analytical skills to assess market opportunities and performance metrics.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
KPIs and Performance Metrics
- Sales Growth: Percentage increase in branch sales revenue.
- Percentage of existing clients who renew or continue their policies during the reporting period.
- Value or percentage of business generated from existing clients through renewals, policy upgrades, cross-selling, or additional purchases.
- Operational Efficiency: Reduced turnaround time and improved service delivery.
- Market Presence: Number of new participants acquired within the branch territory
