Job Summary
The Senior Business Development Officer is responsible for driving business growth, customer acquisition, and revenue generation for the Ikoyi Office.
The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, promoting the Company's Takaful insurance products and services, and supporting the achievement of branch sales and profitability targets.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve individual and branch business development targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, SME, retail, and affinity markets.
- Generate quality leads through networking, referrals, direct marketing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Promote and market the Company's Takaful products and services to prospective clients.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Maintain relationships with brokers, agents, corporate organizations, professional associations, and strategic partners.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling additional products and services.
- Conduct regular client visits and business reviews to strengthen customer loyalty.
Market Intelligence & Business Strategy:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Gather market intelligence and provide recommendations to improve market penetration.
- Identify emerging business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
Reporting & Performance Management:
- Prepare and submit periodic sales and business development reports.
- Maintain accurate records of prospects, customer engagements, and sales activities.
- Track business performance against assigned targets and KPIs.
- Provide regular updates to the Branch Manager on business opportunities, challenges, and market developments.
Data Protection & Confidentiality
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in handling company-related information, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.
- Adhere to the company’s information security guidelines, including proper storage, transmission, and disposal of sensitive materials.
- Promptly report any suspected data breaches or unauthorized access to the appropriate company authority.
- Participate in periodic data protection training to stay informed about evolving security risks and best practices.
General Assignment
- Execute any other duties and tasks that may be designated or assigned by the
Company. - Participate in the knowledge sharing programme of the department and the
company. - To provide supports to your Team Lead/ Branch Manager as may be required
towards serving the Board, Management and staff.
Qualification
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role
- Professional certifications such as CIIN, CIM, or equivalent) are an added advantage
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Lead Conversion Rate: Percentage of qualified leads converted to sales.
